Post-screening discussion

The Hand That Feeds relates the empowering story of immigrant workers at a New York City restaurant chain who stand up against abuse in the workplace. Threatened, harassed and left unprotected from hazardous equipment, the workers band together to seek fair treatment and humane working conditions. In the process, they grow as human beings and get a taste of the dignity that the United States offers to all who labor here.

A brief discussion will follow the screening.

HumanDocs is a series of social-justice documentaries at Lipscomb University. The series emerged from the desire of the university's College of Arts and Sciences to develop students personally, encourage lifelong learning and inspire service in a changing world.

Now entering its seventh year, HumanDocs is hosted by Lipscomb's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. HumanDocs is proud to partner with the Nashville Film Festival and NPT's Indie Lens Pop-Up program, as well as the Lipscomb Honors College.

HumanDocs are free and open to the public. Students attending will receive chapel credit.
