Hawaii People's Fund presents The Hand That Feeds

Thursday, September 10, 6:30pm
UNITE HERE! Local 5 Hall, Honolulu, Hawaii
FREE and open to the public
Post-screening discussion with local activists

The Hand That Feeds is the first to screen in a two-film series on ethical eating and food justice, award-winning documentary films on how food service workers and farmworkers have organized for fair wages and better working conditions. We ask a lot of questions about how the food we eat is grown: Is this organic? Was it grown locally? Were pesticides used? Was it free-range? Genetically modified? Post-film discussions with local activists will connect these questions to ongoing struggles here in Hawaii. Potluck encouraged; some pupu provided.

Co-sponsored by Local 5, AiKea, and Aloha Dream Team.
